If you are a Facebook user, please mosey over to https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ewing-Family-Association/146301275439712, the new EFA page. If you like us, please click "like". That will help us establish the new page in FB's eyes.
We have had a Facebook "group", but FB is changing its concept of a group in a way that would have us fading away, and we can't accept that! FB has a way of reinventing everything every few months, alas.
Please think about posting "Why I like family history" or subjects like that. I don't have to tell you that the Facebook demographic is a little different from our membership as a whole. This is not a bad way to reach out to new potential members by motivating younger Ewings to think about their history and ancestry.

The new Facebook EFA group is taking off, and now we have our own private URL. Anyone can view the recent EFA postings by going to https://www.facebook.com/ewing.family.association . If you'd like to participate further by posting messages, replying or contributing notes, photos, and videos (and making Ewing friends!) you will need to set up a free Facebook account.
To some extent, Facebook does parallel this Google Group and our long standing main web site, but we think it will attract a different group of people. Many of us in the older generation find it a useful way to keep track of our kids -- looking for signs of improvement... Let 1,000 flowers bloom!

The Ewing Family Association page on Facebook continues to gather interest among FB users. We have 53 "likes", which is the way users associate themselves with a page like ours. If you are seeking contact with younger and more plugged-in Ewing relations, Facebook may be the way.
And what's the news out there in Ewing-land? We have survived Irene, who arrived here as a mere Tropical Storm, but still managed to do a lot of damage on the Connecticut shoreline, not to mention the more serious inland flooding. We lost our power for 2 1/2 days. That was a lot better than others in the community, but enough to make us think more seriously about emergency preparedness for the future.

Anyone can access the page directly at https://www.facebook.com/ewing.family.association . You need a Facebook account to make a posting there. If you're already logged in to Facebook, you can also just use the search box to look for "Ewing Family Association".
