It has been a while since our last community newsletter and there is
indeed much to tell you.
Since our last update, Elijah Wood has starred in the independent
production "Hooligans" (2005) as Matt Buckner under director Lexi
Alexander. Another role was Jonathan Safran Foer in "Everything is
Illuminated" (2006, directed by Liev Schreiber) which was filmed in
Prague, Czech Republic. He also gave his voice to some video game
characters and returned to the screen for several smaller roles as in
"Paris, je t'aime" and "Bobby".
Currently, Elijah is filming "The Oxford Murders" in Oxford and
London, England. He plays Martin, a grad student who works together
with a professor (played by John Hurt) to stop a potential series of
murders seemingly linked by mathematical symbols. This production is
currently scheduled to be released on December 14th, 2007. We will
keep you up to date as soon as we find out more.
Elijah Wood has just celebrated his 26th birthday on January 28th -
thank you in his name for all the letters, mails and forum posts that
contained messages with best wishes for him. We have given up to
forward them to his agent and publicist as we never really got
anything back. However, I'm sure he would be happy to know about the
great support among his fans.
It is also the 6th year for the Elijah Wood Fan Network since we have
just celebrated our own birthday in December 2006. Unfortunately, our
website is currently nothing but a big construction site and still
left in the state of October when we were forced to start all over
again after a severe system crash. However, many exciting projects are
on the way to bring back elijah-wood.com as you have known it. This
includes but is not limited to a new layout for the forums and the
website itself, a brand new news section, carefully researched
biographical information as well as a new movie database, an even
better photo gallery plus a new chat community. The new site is
scheduled to be launched in the end of February and I hope you are
looking forward to this event as much as I do.
The administrative crew is always looking for new members to help
making this place even better. If you would like to dedicate some of
your precious time to the Elijah Wood fan community, please feel free
to contact us. Especially good writers are always wanted as we would
like to keep our news section up to date and provide our community
with high quality information whenever possible.
