Hello everyone,

I'm working on a project to build an EwE model with Ecotracer to follow the fate of radionuclides in the Gulf of Lion. I aim to have something both dynamic and spatialized.

My question is should make an Ecosim before the Ecospace or can I jump directly to Ecospace? I somewhat understood that Ecosim is more or less integrated in Ecospace.
I have already the Ecopath done and balanced and I am trying to be efficient in the design of the project (without loosing quality).

Best regards
Thomas

To be more clear, is there an interest in that situation to make an ecosim first, or the dynamic results will be the same (plus the spacialisation) with ecospace.

Hello everyone,

I think I found the answer so in case I wasn't the only one wondering: here is what I found in the Help module of the software, entry N° 10

" Important note: Before using Ecospace you must have a balanced Ecopath model. It is also recommended you have fit the model to time series data by adjusting the Vulnerability settings (see Time series, Time series fitting in Ecosim, Hints for fitting Ecosim models to time series data and Fit to time series)."

So you really have to stack the three module to have an acurate dynamic and spatialized model.

Best regards
