Units Ecoptah vs Ecosim

 Hello everyone

as far as i've been able to know, ecosim runs based on :
1- ecopath values
2- with a monthly time step
Right?

however, we can decide the "time units" used in the ecopath inputs (annual, daily, and even other rates, decided by the modeller)

my question is:
how does ecosim handle this? 

Since the time step will always be the same (monthly??) and the "time units" defined in the ecopath parameters, have no influence on the run of the simulations (only matter the values entered)
If I am giving daily, monthly or yearly rate inputs, how can the time step be always monthly?

my mind is very confused at the moment
