Here is a quick heads-up in case you are interested that EWB-UK have been invited to hold a stand at the 2010 Health Links Conference to be hosted by THET in Nottingham in November. If you are new to Health Links, do check out our website: http://www.thet.org/health-links/
 
It would be great if some of you dropped by and perhaps helped out at the stand for a while. It looks like it could be a really informative event and a good place to meet people in the field. 
 
If you are interested to help out just let me know so I can plan cover for the stand,

We would like to invite you to attend Shaping the Future: Growth, Impact and Innovation, the 2010 UK Health Links Conference hosted by THET.   As a platform for learning from the experiences of practitioners, the UK Health Links Conference 2010 will explore good practice in Health Link partnership development, examine the innovative ways in which Links are addressing the challenges in global health and look at the benefits of linking to UK health professionals.   The conference will be held on the 4th November 2010 at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham between 9.30 and 4.30.   Highlights include: ·         A presentation on Health Links in the global context of health and development ·         A panel discussion on the Benefits of Health Links to the UK ·         Workshops on: E-health, Funding and Promoting Health Links, Looking beyond the Clinical, and Project Design, Management and M&E ·         Talks on contemporary Africa and the context of Linking in the wider development movement   Registration fees are £25 (£15 students). As per my yesterday's quick email, first of all I would like to express my interest in representing EWB stall at THET event on 4th November 2010. If you feel me suitable for this activity, I can send you the necessary details. In case I am ok for the event, can you please share the current idea / layout of the stall, banners and the main points that we will focus at this particular event? 

 

Secondly, I would like to congratulate all of us on the advertisement of Healthcare Design Workshops (HDW) in EWB-UK's last newsletter (dated Sep 23rd). Is there any positive outcome of this advertisement? What do you think now about our first HDW meeting?

Thank you Basit. Your help would be much appreciated. Anyone else is welcome to come along too but unfortunately we only get two official passes for the stall.
 
With regard to the Design Workshops - I am looking to run the first workshop in mid November in Cambridge. The first workshop will explore public healthcare need and look at the process of technology assessment in the design process. A representative from NICE International is keen to present if the dates work out and I am looking for a second speaker to present public health need.
 
Once I have dates confirmed I will put an 'application' form on the EWB website to attend. I will let you know when this goes up.
