Subject: EWB October Southeast Region Key Takeaways
Hey Sali,
I wanted to share a few key takeaways from the Southeast Regional Steering Committee call on October 26th. If you could share the below information with your team, I would be most grateful:
1. Monthly virtual regional conference:
The eighth virtual regional conference will be held on Tuesday October 27th, 2020 at 7:30pm ET. Registration here. The title of the session is “Construction Drawings Gone Wrong: Fixing Our Mistakes!” Come fix, discuss, and learn about situations when poorly designed drawings led to disaster! Participants will have the opportunity to join breakout sessions to fix real construction drawings by editing, adjusting, and marking the mistakes and discussing potential solutions to the designs.
2. Annual conference virtual presentations and week of celebration and learning:
Please take the opportunity to check out and register for the week of celebration and learning taking place in November and to review the wide array of on-demand virtual conference presentations that your peers are sharing here.
The event series includes:
· November 14, 1:00 p.m. ET: On-Demand Session Release & Support Session — Explore a variety of topics including community partnerships, volunteer engagement, project areas & technology, adaptation & innovation, and more. Join the support session to learn how to navigate the material.
· November 17, 7:30 p.m. ET: Looking Ahead: Turning Learning into Action — Join CEO Jackie O’Brien and a panel for a look into the future of EWB-USA.
· November 19 at 7:30 p.m. ET: 2020 Annual Awards Ceremony: Celebrating Leaders of Tomorrow — Help us celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our volunteers and have a chance to win a cash prize for your chapter or chapter of choice, sponsored by EWB-USA partner, Pratt & Whitney. Stay after for the social hour!
· November 19 at 8:15 p.m. ET: Volunteer Social Hour — Stay on after the awards to get to know fellow volunteers in an informal and fun social hour! More details coming soon.
3. CEC Project Manual:
The Community Engineering Corps team is proud to announce the release of their Project Manual! The Project Manual walks through the CECorps project process including guidelines, procedures and requirements for creating and carrying out a successful domestic project.
4. EWB-USA cycling jersey fundraiser:
The Auburn University chapter has designed beautiful EWB-USA cycling jerseys and matching shorts for men and women. They are on sale as a fundraiser ahead of the holidays with orders due by November 2, 2020 here. Please spread the word!
I look forward to our next check-in. Please of course also feel free to reach out anytime prior. Have a great start to your week.
Sincerely,
--
