Hi All,

Want to share a great opportunity to apply for a virtual hack aligned with our EWB work focused on sanitation issues in Alabama's Black Belt!!

I am on the organizing team for this event and as an official partner, EWB is helping get the word out on this event. You might remember a similar event that I hosted last year and would be happy to talk further about the format and event! More information can be found at our website here.

Please forward to your RSC members and ask your State Reps to spread the word asap. Applications are open through May 23rd.

An estimated 90% of the on-site sewage systems in Lowndes County in Alabama's Black Belt are failing or non-existent, resulting in pooling of raw sewage in yards, hookworm infections, and other negative health impacts.

UNLEASH is a Global Innovation Lab committed to bringing the world's top talents together to share ideas, build networks and create solutions to help reach the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a participant, you will be guided through the 2-day innovation process which leverages UNLEASH's proven methodology and global community of over 3,000 Alumni to generate and grow impactful and solutions. Participants will work in groups of 4-5, with leadership and expertise provided by a range of facilitators, experts, and judges. The Water Environment Federation (WEF) and several other organizations are partnering with us to put on this fantastic event.

We are looking for *you* to join us as a Hack participant; people who:

  • Demonstrate passion and commitment to solving the pressing SDG challenge, and a creative and innovative mindset.
  • Are willing to engage in co-creation with peers and experts.
  • Are 20 - 35 years old.
  • Available to participate June 5 and June 12, 2021.

Participants (also called "talents" within the UNLEASH community) must complete an application that is currently open through May 23, 2021. Application form: https://bit.ly/3ei7FG1. Please let me know if you have any questions - I am on the organizing team and have gone though previous UNLEASH programs!
