Hi everyone,

Congrats!  This is so exciting!

I just wanted to let you all know that when I talked with our university study abroad office, they recommended HTH Worldwide insurance coverage for all EWB travelers (students and professionals).  You sign up online and can put in your dates of travel as the length of the plan.  It's really reasonably priced but will cover anything and everything you might need on the trip!  The website is: http://www.hthtravelinsurance.com/

I know that there are a number of different travel insurance plans out there - but this one is just what we've used and had luck with!  Most typical insuarnce packages don't cover some of the things you may need so it's definitely something to look into.

Feel free to email me if you have any questions!

Morning all,

Thanks so much to everyone that attended our travelers’ selection meeting last night.

I have counted all the votes and the results are the following:

Professionals selected:

-          Brad Byrom (Kimball Corp.)

-          Beth Cullinan (Emerson)

-          Xihua Chen (Cardinal Resources)

Students selected:

-          Erica Spiritos (CMU)

-          Courtney Baker (CMU)

-          Paroma Saha (Pitt)

If any of the students or professionals in this list couldn’t travel, next in line are Erin Devlin (ALCOA) and Dyanna Becker (CMU).

Bharati is going to help us finding a good ticket price in the first two weeks of August, ideally leaving on the 1st of August (Saturday) and coming back on the 9h of August (Sunday).

All travelers please fill in the forms attached and send it back to me ASAP, as we have to submit them to Nationals by Sunday.

Students: ask in your Uni if your Students Insurance will cover you during the dates of the trip!!!

CMU Students: I think that the CMU EWB Chapter has not been recognized by Nationals yet. There is a chance that Nationals would not allow you to travel if that is the case (I hope not)! Brad: please contact us if you have any questions on how to proceed with the official recognition of your chapter, we would like to help.

Again, thank you very much to all of you for all your enthusiasm with this project and see you on Sunday for the project meeting (I will send a reminder with the time and location details soon)

Eva,

Please note that all the members of the traveling team will have to sign up to be National EWB members as well (for ASCE members you get a discount) - cannot travel otherwise.  Emma can you verify if students need this membership as well?

Also, please make sure your passports are up to date (no visa req'd).

Congratulations Tingo Pucarra Team!!

Subject: RE: Ecuador Project: Second assessment trip travelers selection

Emma,

Thanks very much for this info!

Brad just confirmed that this is the same company that the professional travelers used in the first assessment trip last year and that it worked well. So all travelers please check it out!

Eva
