Hello Everyone,

I wanted to let you all know that we are on-track to travel for our final implementation trip.  It has been a long year and a half from inception to design to reality.  Everyone; the education team, the technical team, and the administrative team have put in countless hours getting the paperwork, fund raising, and design complete for our Education & Technology project.

Here is what we hope to accomplish
  • Depart for Honduras (March 13th)
  • Implement Wireless Network (Replace aging equipment, and implement QoS, access control, and improved backbone for the schools) serving three schools, and six other locations
  • Present two lectures (Competing Globally by Learning Open Source Software, and Connecting Communities using Wireless Networks)
  • Begin an Educational Assessment
  • Begin Water/Engineering project research
  • Develop the next potential projects & network with local NGOs, Rotary, and other organizations.
  • Return from Honduras (March 21st)
During our time in Honduras, we will be preparing pictures, video, and daily-updates of our experience in Honduras.  Please follow the updates on our trip blog: http://ewbhonduras.tumblr.com/

When we return we will publish a list of potential projects as requested by our community; it will be a mix of educational, engineering, and IT.  We will then schedule a meeting (teleconference) where interested people can jump on board.  We are looking for the next leaders, volunteers and supporters.  We can only pick one project at a time, so which ever has the most support wins.

And finally, special thanks to our supporters & donors.

Yorba Linda Rotary, who generously donated $1500.00 this last week.
Ubiquti Networks, for Donation of Two Nanostations & Two Bullet2 Radios ($300 Value)
WLanMall.com for Donation/Winning of a Wi-SPY 2.4x ($200 Value)
SpringSoft for an Online Fund raiser which netted us $2400.00
and to the many individual and small corporate donations.  We were able to fully fund this project.
