Hi, Jake (and everyone else).
Overall, it seems things went really well on the trip. Our travelers collected the data that they had set out to collect, got to know the community, ate, drank, and were merry. The expressions I heard as I greeted them at the airport were "amazing," "awesome," and "incredible," just to list a few. The rest of us are all really looking forward to hearing stories about their trip, seeing pictures (there are many of them), and watching some video footage (I hear there's village dancing and spears involved).
We are planning on having a general EWB meeting next Wednesday, August 29, at 6:30 p.m. (location to be announced soon). This meeting will be advertised all around campus and is intended to recruit new students into our group to support the multiple aspects of our projects. During this meeting, the travel team will give a presentation about the assessment trip.
I would like to keep the meeting momentum going and hold a general Tsuraku project meeting next Thursday, August 30, at 7 p.m. so that we can get organized and design an action plan for the next couple of months.
I'll send out another email as soon as I find out with certaintly the locations of the meetings.
Because of the enthusiasm and dedication of our travel team and many other EWB-ASU members, our first trip to Ecuador was a great success! Thank you!!! Now, let's keep the train rolling...
