Fund raising meeting and info

Dear Everyone,
On Monday at 7:30 we have the fundraising meeting in the ISTB2 bldg.
I hope you all can make it!
The meeting will be slightly different than planned. It will be
attended by Dick Filley who, as some of you may know, is heading up
the Global Futures Initiative in the IAF School of Engineering (which
EWB is currently under). Joe met with him last week and found out
some important information. For one thing, it turns out that the ASU
Foundation, as an umbrella organization, gets first dibs on all
corporate donations. We ARE NOT ALLOWED to solicit businesses for
money. On the other hand, businesses are permitted to give us money
of their own accord. That means that we will have to be very...
careful in how we "pursue" donations from companies.
Over the course of the weekend I will be sending out documents
pertaining to fund raising, along with an itinerary. When we meet on
Monday, we can discuss the different routes to raising money and what,
specifically, we can do prior to the August trip. Dick should be a
really good resource for us and we should take advantage of this
opportunity to ask him questions. I know that's not a ton of
information right now, but I'll keep supplementing it, and we should
be able to finalize a plan at the meeting.
