Hi everyone,
I have posted the minutes from our most recent technical meeting under
files on the group page. It is titled "7-2-07 Technical Team Meeting
Minutes". You will be able to find responsibilities for each member
for the upcoming meetings as well as other good info which was
discussed. I will also make the file available under the technical
team's page. Have a happy 4th of July everyone!

Great meeting last night gang- thanks everyone for taking on our many tasks!

I have a couple of additions/changes to the posted minutes:

1. The next technical meeting will be on WEDNESDAY, JULY 11TH AT 7:30 P.M. IN ISTB2 265. Let me know ASAP if this is not a good day and time. Please send me your slides by Wednesday morning. If you have difficulty finding sources let me know and I can help you find some. Also, the books that are circulating among the group have lots of good starting information, so you could also send an e-mail to the group asking the people with the books if there is information about your topic.

2. For the fundraising meeting: Nicole will finish making our group "brochure/flier" for Monday and will also show us the presentation she has put together for businesses and how she would present it.

3. Ayla is in contact with the professor in Quito- she is finding out about their lab capabilities

4. For all the presenation topics, keep in mind when you're finding information that we'll want to compile a binder with all these topics to bring on the assessment trip

Also, I can't seem to upload files to our website, so here are the links I promised (including the files):

Soil and Site Evaluation and Percolation Tests Procedures:

All about hand augers (I'm not sure if this one is very useful)

Interesting webpage about the Shuar (I'm sure you can find many such sites):

A personal account from the person who built the failed latrine in Tsuraku:

Hope everyone enjoys the holiday and sees some good fireworks!

Michal

Hey gang,

Richard Filley, who is the head of the Global Futures Initiative and now the EWB-ASU faculty advisor, is going to attend the fundraising meeting on Monday and hopefully the Technical Team meeting on Wednesday as well.  He is excited about our project in Tsuraku, and will be an invaluable resource.  He will be able to offer useful advice on the project, so be sure to utilize his knowledge and contacts.

Thanks, and I will see you all when I get back from my conference!

Happy 4th,
Joe
