I'm having problems with Skybox when trying to connect the Oculus quest 2 to the pc using airscreen. With the app open on both devices, the oculus cannot find the pc. Both are on the same network, oculus via 5G wifi and the pc via ethernet cable. I have checked the firewall etc and everything they recommend on the web and nothing. With other apps like Virtual Destopk the oculus detect my pc without problems. The only way that works is through the network creating a shared folder, and even so it fails a lot, sometimes it cannot find the folder and I have to restart the oculus to detect it, etc. What am I doing wrong? or am I not understanding the airscreen? It does not allow me to play videos from my pc on my oculus without having to share them over the network? Previously, of course, I have added the folder with the videos in the skybox of the pc.
can someone explain me how to make it work? Thank you
Hello. I finally found the problem. Surely it is obvious to someone who has knowledge but I am a fairly novice user. I have the house wired with ethernet sockets to the rouer in the rooms, forming a local network, but the wifi does not reach certain devices that do not support ethernet so I put a Tenda W6 wifi repeater system. The main repeater is connected by cable to the router but it is seen that the devices connected to this wifi network form a different network. The oculus were connecting to the Wi-Fi of this network instead of the Wi-Fi of the router because it caught it better. What I have done is connect the pc by cable to one of those repeaters and now Skybox does detect the pc from the oculus. I didn't think about it before because other applications like virtua desktop or Steam Vr detect the PC with the same settings. In summary, that although the wifi network is connected through the main repeater by cable to the router, it constitutes a different network from the router network and Skybox is not detected from a computer on the wifi network to one on the ethernet network, although I have Tested with other programs in the oculus that do detect it and other devices connected to the repeaters' Wi-Fi network such as TVs or mobile phones do detect the PC with other software. Thanks for your help. Hope this serves other users with the same problem.
I used my Quest 2 via Virtual Desktop when I wanted to play some Roblox (which only works on Oculus headsets if you use the Oculus app). Still, I found that whenever I tried to connect my headset to the PC, it didn't seem to be connected on either end. I click on my PC name in my headset while I have the app open on my PC and click pair. However, it doesn't do anything other than graying out the pair button. I try to pair it again, but now it says Launch. However, now it's grayed out as well. And the PC app still hasn't gotten any data from the headset!
So, how do I fix this? I can't revert to Windows 11 because this PC was built with Windows 11 (and the ten days for reverting already passed), and no matter what I do on my headset, it does nothing to fix the Air Link.
We hate to hear that your not able to use link with your headset. We want all our users to experience seamless VR with our devices. At this time, Windows 11 is not supported by our software so we can not guarantee you won't run into issues when attempting to use your Link cable or Airlink. Keep an eye on the release notes on our support page to be updated when Windows 11 will be supported.
This needs to be fixed as an absolute matter of urgency. Some of us have been unable to use our oculus headsets via PC since November/December 2021 due to the complete incompetence of Oculus. Huge apology and an actual fix should be #1 right now.
It's August 2023 now and I started to have the same problem. My oculus quest 2 was working fine on Air Link but about a month ago happent the same that endersender365 wrote about. How to fix the connection?
