Hello fellow builders!
I am a carpenter who loves the profession but is fed up with the
amount of material that is wasted in production construction.
I am no "greener" than the next guy, I just want to see more reuse of
perfectly good materials. There is no reason to throw away such useful
items. I work in the commercial field as well as the residential end
of the business and it amazes me how often people (who are not in the
field) are looking for material, yet dont know where to find it. When
ironically at that very same moment you may have a contractor heading
to the landfill with a dump truck of 2x4 cutoffs and quarter sheets of
drywall! It amazes me, and we need to change.

I fully agree with your sentiments here... I have set up a website,
which I feel with enough promotion could provide a solution to this
problem. It is at the very early stages of development at the moment
and I am hoping to launch a marketing campaign in due course. Please
have a look and comment on it. From the beginning I have received good
feedback. If you have any items please try out the process and put
them on, it is free. Tell your friends in the industry about it also
try to encourage more people to get involved. The website is www.ewasted.co.uk
