I was thinking it be good for a building company to be able to post
there excess waste/building materials onto a site like eWasted, and
self builds DIY hobbyists or other building companies could purchase
the items to reduce the costs on both ends. What's better is that as
the site is locality based it helps reduce the affects of global
warming.
It would be win/win, the person selling the materials will be able to
save on landfill tax or even make some money from the items and the
buyers would benefit from cheap building materials. As I see it the
site would require substantial membership from the wide range of
counties and fast arrangements being made by purchaser to collect the
materials as the timing of projects would need consideration.
Do you think construction professionals would consider changing there
current mentality and consider this method of selling? Especially
considering the new SWMP's legislation pushing them in the right
direction to become aware of waste management.
