Keeping EVs cool in your garage?

I’ve been under the impression that as long as your EV has a battery management system and you keep the battery charged, heat doesn’t matter.  Google seems to imply your garage temperature does:

In Tucson, AZ, where summer temperatures can be quite high, a cooled garage would be particularly beneficial for preserving the longevity and performance of an EV's battery. While a cooled garage is ideal, parking in the shade and utilizing a garage's ventilation can also help mitigate the effects of heat, says AAA Insurance. [1, 11]

Hi Steven,

I agree with you, I don't worry about it.  My car sits in my hot, west-facing garage.  I assume my 2020 Tesla 3 handles protecting my battery.

A few more things to consider when parking your EV in a garage, or in the direct sunlight that wasn't mentioned in the google results and that matters a lot is not to park your EV fully charged and leave it there in the extreme heat.

Usually EV batteries work best when warm/hot, but when fully charged and extremely hot is when the battery chemical composition degrades the faster. Worst you can do is to fully charge it during the night when cold and leave it sitting throughout the day to warm up by the sun/heat especially if not plugged in. 

If not plugged in, the vehicle's thermal management system or battery overheat protection may not kick in and battery temperature will increase while being fully charged, which is not good for its life. 

If the EV is left plugged in but in an enclosed garage, keep in mind the battery active cooling system may automatically kick in to cool down the battery, but most likely the EVs thermal management system, at not finding where to dump the battery's heat inside the garage (already too hot) it will only increase power consumption generating even more heat to a point that charge may be stopped or derated ending with an even hotter battery/garage than before
