My son, aged 11, just got FIFA17 for PS4 as a present. He would now like to play FIFA Ultimate team. Seems like something he should be able to do - no adult content that I don't want him to see. However, I would like to be in control of how many FIFA points he can buy on a monthly basis.
I see that both the Origin account system and the PSN account system allow you to create child accounts. "Great", I thought - just what we need. 3 hours later after one of the worst possible user experiences I have ever seen (and I've seen a lot), I realize that the ONLY way for my son to play FIFA Ultimate team is to let him use MY PSN account and MY Origin account.
Can you please explain to me, dear EA, what the intent of this design is? How do you intend for 11 year olds to play FIFA Ultimate Team? Or did you not design for that? Seems strange given the game's rating. This frustrating experience seems to me a complete misinterpretation of COPPA or other privacy policies. Or was it just too difficult to design an experience for kids that actually worked? Please let me know what your best practice for kids and FIFA Ultimate Team is since I will then need to figure out how I can let my son play the game...Oh, and by the way, what do I tell my 9 year old when HE wants to play FIFA Ultimate team using a different account? "Sorry, not possible"?
Apologies for bumping a very, very old thread but the information contained above is no longer applicable as EA/Origin allow you to manage parental controls through console settings via the Xbox and PlayStation parental account controls now. If you would like more information on how to set up a Child account to link up with your console you can find out how right here.
Exactly the same issue! Even with a (very) wild imagination I simply cannot think of anything my kids are not allowed to see or experience playing Fifa18/19/20. My son is a huge fan of the game, saved up for buying fifa20 today ... this is so disappointing for him, and it makes no sense at all.
I've been playing FIFA 2022 on a Nintendo Switch, for many months, the game and console are updated to the latest version, I have a Nintendo Online subscription and inside the game, I am able to access other online functions, but matching people online has become a nightmare.
Here is an example of the last 10 attempts to connect. Only 2 were successful (see in the image how Nick does not even appear on the list, is because there were actually more attempts between Nick and Michel):
After asking EA for support 4 times, and never getting an answer, I decided to ask Nintendo support. They did not say much about troubleshooting my issue, and initially said that my refund could not be asked because I have played the game for so many weeks.
I called Nintendo yesterday and GOT A FULL REFUND, the reason behind that is that I have already done all the troubleshooting possible, and that if EA was not providing support for these game they could offer the refund.
Regarding the connectivity issues: my theory is that is a server side issue, probably those servers are not enough or have a configuration issue that makes connecting looking for a game a nightmare
If your child is under 18, you can set parental controls on a platform level which will be followed in our games. For example, if you turn off communication with other players in your platform parental controls, that will also turn off communications with other players in the EA game.
You can adjust platform parental controls so your child can only use their teen account to play the single-player, offline modes of an EA game. To learn more about platform parental controls for child and teen accounts, see below.
If your child can't access the online features of an EA game even though the platform-level parental settings allow them to play online, it may be because the game content is Mature (M). Double-check the age rating on the EA app, or on the cover of the game box.

Crossplatform gaming has become increasingly popular in recent years, allowing players from different gaming platforms to play together seamlessly. With the release of FIFA 23, the future of crossplatform gaming is set to reach new heights. This article explores the exciting features and advancements that FIFA 23 brings to the world of crossplatform gaming.
FIFA 23 promises to revolutionize the crossplatform gaming experience for players. This game will be the first of the EA franchise to feature true crossplatform gaming, allowing players from different platforms to play together. This means that games can be connected between PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and mobile, allowing for a much larger player base and the potential for more exciting matchmaking. Furthermore, the game is designed to provide an enhanced gaming experience regardless of which platform you are playing on.
FIFA 23 is revolutionizing the way we play online multiplayer games by introducing crossplay capabilities. This means that players from different consoles and devices can now play together in the same game. This is a major step forward in the gaming industry, as it eliminates the barriers of exclusivity by allowing players to play with each other regardless of their platform. This encourages fair competition, as players of different platforms will now be able to compete on an even playing field. In addition, crossplay also encourages collaboration and community building, as players from different platforms can now come together to create teams and foster relationships.
FIFA 23 is taking crossplay one step further by introducing crossplatform tournaments and leagues. This is a great way for players of different platforms to come together and compete in the same tournament or league. This will not only allow for more intense competition and rivalries, but it will also expand the reach and impact of FIFA 23 esports. By allowing players of different platforms to compete together, it encourages collaboration and diversity, highlighting talent from all platforms. This is a great way for players to showcase their skills and develop relationships, while uniting the gaming community on a global scale.
The biggest challenge with implementing a cross-platform experience for FIFA 23 is the technical and compatibility issues that come with it. There are a variety of technical challenges that need to be addressed, such as ensuring compatibility between different platforms, providing a smooth and consistent gameplay experience for all players regardless of their platform, and ensuring continuous updates and improvements to the cross-platform features. In addition, FIFA 23 must also ensure that all players are able to communicate and interact with each other regardless of their platform. This requires a significant amount of work in order to ensure a seamless experience for all players.

FIFA is a simulated football game, where gamers can choose to play as their favourite real-life footballers in their favourite real-life teams. The first edition of FIFA was released by EA in 1993. Since then, it has become an annual game, with a new version being released every year to stay up to date with current football trends and introduce new mechanics to keep the game fresh.
Each new edition of FIFA has a companion app released alongside it. Both are highly anticipated by fans of the game. It is available in a Standard Edition and an Ultimate Edition for those who want an enhanced experience.
Cross-play allows players to play the game with others on different platforms (such as PlayStation, Xbox or PC). Cross-play allows for friends on different consoles to play together and for online matchmaking to occur between strangers across platforms, too!
