A Bunch of Upcoming Events in Pittsburgh + ECLIPSE

I'm assuming that you've heard about the upcoming Total Solar Eclipse on Monday April 8th. This is a very rare celestial event, and another one like this won't be visible in the U.S. until 2044! (I recommend getting a pair of these glasses if you plan to stare at the sun) 

Community leader, Genevieve Wallis and a crew are hosting this wonderful event a short drive from PGH with a view of the totality, with options for the whole weekend or just coming up for one day. 

Join Song Circle for the People (from Pittsburgh, PA) for an incredible gathering centered around the sacred fire arts. 

Sharing songs, meaningful stories, and dances around the fire 

is a part of our ancestral lineage—we were built to share around its warmth. It’s glow illuminates that which serves us, that which to be focused on, and it’s smoke dissolves that which does not serve. Join us for a long weekend gathering centered around the sacred fire arts—alchemical fire ritual, temple burn ritual, song circle, dancing, drumming, freestyle flow, fire spinning, and the ritual theatre arts of story telling, fire tending/torch bearing, witnessing, song leading, improving, alchemical transmutation. We will have workshops on these arts during the day, and a different fire ritual each night. 

I am happy to announce that it is looking like we will have a talented cook and event producer friend of mine providing meals during this event, and Shangri-La on the Lake has showers, bathrooms, a pavilion for us to eat under, a multitude of picnic tables, and is even building us a large fire area (1’ tall, 6’ wide) around to have our ceremonies around. Camping there will be $20/tent a night, and a tent can have up to 4 people. This is a courtesy they are doing us (its usually more per tent and 2 people max to a tent), so please respect the land and check in with them. They need to register everyone that is coming onto their land, so if they aren’t at the front before you drive back to our site, come check in with us and then we can tell you how much the camping fees will be and send you back to them. If they are at the front office, check in with them first, then come back.

Also, on Tuesday, April 2nd, I am hosting this interactive Online Workshop : 

Having a Morning Practice that helps you to feel strong in Mind, Body + Spirit can work wonders in enhancing your productivity, fulfillment and overall wellness. In this workshop I will share some powerful insights and practices for creating a Morning Practice that works for you. 

We will dive into the 5 elements, and how finding a dynamic balance between all of them contributes to you feeling holistically empowered. 

I've been dedicated to a strong Morning Practice since 2011 and have followed it pretty religiously, because I am convinced of the countless benefits. 

I want to support YOU in starting each of your days EMPOWERED, so that you can make an optimal positive impact in the world. This workshop will do exactly that, and also introduce you to an awesome group of people doing the same. We will have a private group chat on Facebook for the following month to encourage each other and keep the energy of the workshop flowing.

Unity in Healing: A Day of Connection and Wellness
Welcome to the Unity in Healing event! Join us on Sunday, April 14,
Join us as we kick off the Unity in Healing event at noon in Ascend Yoga Studio. Then, at 2pm downstairs in Velum Fermentation, we'll start the afternoon with our networking session. Arrive early to mingle, make new friends, enjoy arcade games, board games, cornhole, explore unique vendors, and discover the array of community resources available. It's the perfect opportunity to connect, relax, and immerse yourself in a day of wellness and community support.

And on Saturday May 18th is the return of the Peaceful Gathering of Hands, but with our new name : 

THE PITTSBURGH HEALING FESTIVAL

The Pittsburgh Healing Festival brings together people of all ages and backgrounds who want to harmonize Mind, Body + Spirit in community.

Previously known as the Peaceful Gathering of Hands, which has been an annual event since 2011, this Healing Festival will carry on the tradition of celebrating both our uniqueness and our commonalities. We will have 4 circles throughout the day where participants are invited to join hands in a big circle to unify and just BE together for one minute in silence.

The circles will be at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, and 7pm. In between there will be workshops, kids activities, vendors, music and drum circle, potluck, and plenty of wonderful people to connect with. 

Please bring a blanket, a folding chair, food to share at the potluck, instruments, and friends. 

We will also have a Raffle, with various cool prizes related to Holistic Wellness. 

Tickets for the event are available on 3 tiers : 10$, 20$, and 40$, and for each 10$, you will get 5 tickets towards the raffle. 

Location is at the top of Overlook Drive, by the swingset, near the upper entrance to the Schenley Ice Rink.
