PGH HEALING FESTIVAL - Aka Peaceful Gathering of Hands - This SATURDAY!

Hello Pittsburgh People :) 

This Saturday, May 17th is our big annual event, which we have been doing almost every year since 2011. It's a great place to connect with people who are interested in Holistic Living and cultivating community. Here is the info on it, and then more on 2 other great upcoming events : 

A few important things : 

1. This is the first time in a few years that it hasn't been forecasted to rain during the event! But even if it does, we still have a fun time and have plenty of tents. 

2. The back entrance to Schenley Park is closed. Please enter from Greenfield Road. More detailed directions further down in this email. 

3. I want to share a minor apology - It was just brought to my attention today - that there has been a facebook glitch... every time I go into the FB event page and edit the event info (updating the schedule etc) - facebook then sends a notification to all guests saying "HOST HAS CHANGED EVENT LOCATION." - when I never did that even once. I'm sorry for any confusion, and for this technical glitch. Unfortunately it seems to be a glitch that has affected many events for a long time. 

4. We are selling tickets to help support the cost of putting on this event, but if money is an issue, it's not mandatory to get a ticket. Our top priority is simply to bring the community together. Tickets can be purchased here in advance or at the Yellow Welcome Tent. Ticket price options are 10$, 20$, or 40$, depending on how many raffle tickets you want. We have some awesome prizes this year :) 

5. Suggested things to bring : Food for Potluck (and ideally with a list of ingredients / potential allergies ) Other things which can be good to have : A hat for the sun, eating utensils + reusable bottle, a blanket for the ground, outdoor toys, art, info on your projects, a folding chair, instruments, and friends.

Previously known as the Peaceful Gathering of Hands, which has been an annual event since 2011, this Healing Festival will carry on the tradition of celebrating both our uniqueness and our commonalities. We will have 4 circles throughout the day where participants are invited to join hands in a big circle to unify and just BE together for one minute in silence.

The circles will be at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, and 730pm. In between there will be workshops, kids activities, exhibitor displays, music and drum circle, potluck, and plenty of wonderful people to connect with.

Kids 14 and under get in free, and no one will be turned away for lack of funds. If you feel inspired to join us, please come by!

Location is at the top of Overlook Drive, by the swingset, near the upper entrance to the Schenley Ice Rink.

HERE ARE THE DIRECTIONS : 

Important Note : the back entrance to Schenley Park is closed, please enter from Greenfield Road. If you use Google Maps, please enter “Schenley Park Overlook”. If you use the Maps on your iPhone, please type into GPS : “Schenley Skating Rink” and we are at the upper entrance. We will be at the very top of the hill, next to the swingset, and the upper entrance to "Schenley Park Ice Skating Rink." At the top of the hill, you should see us in the field amidst some trees, with about 8 colored tents. Our location is about 50 yards from the main restrooms for Schenley Oval Sports Complex (which has a soccer field and tennis courts). There will be parking along the street on Overlook Drive. If you can't find us, please text me (Kevin) 412-298-5341, and I will call you back as soon as possible.
