Join Song Circle for the people for circle singing, dancing, drumming, freestyle flow and fire spinning as we circumambulate around the fire in our moving Halloween fire circle. Drummers, please bring drums and a drum to share if you have, as well as a camp chair. Singers, please bring songs to teach us. Poets, your words! Freestyle homies, your flows! We want to see and hear your dark deep spoopy Halloween expressions.
There will be a space for fire spinners across from where you enter the circle to spin, torches to light our way, fire tenders to keep the flames going. A food altar to keep our bodies nourished, and hopefully tea that is shared in community. Bring your bliss (a mug, bowl, fork) or at the very least a mug to help eat/drink things.
This is an alcohol-free event, due to the circling around the fire that we do and the sacred expressive nature of our circle. Please no throwing anything into the fire. Please do bring offerings to share with the circle—do you have a dance to teach us? Something to get off your chest? A song you just can’t get out of your head? An instrument you want to serenade us with? Come and share! The fire and the land is so happy that we gather together to co-create these expressions.
We honor the indigenous peoples to this land, the Lenape, Susquehanna, and Monongahela peoples. The Adena, Hopewell, the Iroquois people. Thank you for tending to this land. May we gather in a good way, coming early to clean up the bluffs at Bandi Shaum. May we light the fire early to keep the smoke at bay, may those that find us find joy, depth, and Ecstatic expression within our circle.
Type in ‘Bandi Shaum Community Gardens’ and drive to the upper parking lot to park. Follow the signs and lights up the hill to the right and you shall find our circle. Bring good shoes to wear, there can be glass in spots. Also bring a chair, any drums to share, and come bathroomed. There is a Porto there but it’s nice to be prepared.
This is a by donation event, proceeds go towards the music therapy work of Genevieve Wallis as well as circle expenses like fuel wood and torches.

We will have a community music co-creation circle starting at 7:30pm, so please bring an instrument if you'd like. This is a drug and alcohol-free event and is also family friendly.
INFO ON THE BOOK :
The phrase "Know Thyself" was inscribed on the Temple of Apollo in Ancient Greece. The Greeks and countless other cultures across the world knew about the immense importance of cultivating Self-Awareness. But how do you do this?
In State of Being, Kevin May lays out a variety of maps and practices for optimizing your Body-Mind-Spirit awareness on a daily basis. You are invited to take the next steps to manifest your true potential, reconnect with natural rhythms, and make a positive impact in the world. This book is the culmination of Kevin's 16 year quest for understanding and practicing Body-Mind-Spirit optimization.
