Analyst BI role:

 

                Solid analyst, testing, upgrade versions etc.   Must have had exp running MicroStrategy reports! Turning prompts into filter, adding columns, working w/dashboards and reporting knowledge.

  

 

Contract BI Analyst Job Description:

 

 

This position will be responsible for performing analysis, design and testing in support of the development of BI solutions within the MicroStrategy toolset. Position will perform requirements gathering involving business use of brokerage data. Gain comprehensive understanding around the data and the businesses use of it. Perform necessary data analysis using a variety of SQL tools to understand issues or data relationships. Develop MicroStrategy reports in support of the business. Develop test plans and necessary reports. Execute and report on results of testing. Train others in the use of MicroStrategy.

 

Participate in planning sessions with the project team to analyze and explain business requirements. Contribute to the database design through collaboration with BI Architects, Data Analysts and Data Modelers. Produce functional design documentation. Generate appropriate test plans and assure quality of work.; Execute and/or provide support for all phases of testing such as integration testing, and user acceptance testing; Work independently under the guidance of a Technical Lead/Project manager; Collaborate with other team members in creating optimal, maintainable, and scalable Architecture; Follow enterprise standards and guidelines during all phases of development lifecycle; Participate in code and design reviews; Expected to be proactive in identifying and escalating issues that will have an adverse impact on the project; Interact with IT management and other teams at a highly professional and technical level; Demonstrate accurate and complete understanding of project scope.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

·         3-5 years’ experience in business systems analysis and design.

 

·         4 year college degree or equivalency required Must be self-driven Strong analysis skills MicroStrategy report development experience required

 

·         Excellent verbal and written communication

 

·         Very good SQL skills

 

·         Strong understanding of data quality assurance processes and procedures

 

·         Experience in creating test strategy and writing test cases for processes and data validation

 

·         Excellent time management skills

 

·         Experience with presentation and facilitation Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Brokerage and/or financial services industry knowledge a plus.

 

Familiarity with MicroStrategy Administration and Architecture a plus
