The Federal University of ABC (UFABC) has opened a selection process for visiting professor positions,  including opportunities in the field of Machine Learning. These positions are part of the special program focused on "Internationalization at Home" through English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI).

Visiting professors will teach and conduct research entirely in English and are expected to have strong pedagogical and linguistic competence for EMI. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate students, conducting research, and engaging in university extension projects.

Founded in 2006, UFABC is built on an interdisciplinary pedagogical model. Undergraduate students are initially admitted into Interdisciplinary Bachelor’s Degrees, such as Science and Technology, allowing them to explore different fields before specializing in a specific program, such as Computer Science or Data Science.

Despite being a young institution, UFABC has gained significant recognition and good performance at university rankings:

  • THE WUR 2020: #13 in Brazil
  • THE Innovation 2019 #1 in Brazil
  • THE Latin America 2019: #41 and #23 in Brazil
  • CWUR 2019: #29 in Brazil, #958 worldwide
  • U.S. News 2019: #10 Brazil; #8 World in international collaboration
  • RUF (Brazilian ranking) from 2013 to 2017: #1 in internationalization
