Gems are rare resources that may be obtained randomly from Mining or by combining 10 gem fragments obtained from gatheringwithin the Gem Mine. The player will only start finding gems after finishing the The Gem Seeker quest, however, the Mining Machinery does not have to be mining for the player to find gems. Gems can be used to upgrade all Tools, to provide increased rates, decreased Stardust costs (e.g., Pickaxe and Hammer), or otherwise enhanced effects for that tool. Gems must be "socketed" in a tool with the Socket Scroll in ascending order, from Sapphire to Emerald to Ruby to Diamond. Blood diamonds can't be socketed. Because they provide permanent buffs, it is generally advised to use all gems to upgrade your tools first, before using them for other purposes. It is generally advised to first upgrade your Brewing Kit, Axe, and Fishing tools.
Gems can be used to craft the Treasure Chest Keys, which are used to obtain loot from Treasure Chests. Higher tier gems will provide more rolls on the loot table when opening the Treasure Chest. Because of the relative rarity of obtaining Treasure Maps, it is generally advised to use at least an Emerald Key when opening Treasure Chests, if not higher.
Gems can be sold either to the Game Shop or the Player Market. Lower tier gems (Sapphires and Emeralds) generally only sell for slightly above the Game Shop on the Player Market, but Rubies and Diamonds sell for significantly more on the Player Market.
These are loose scintillator pixels of LYSO (Lutetium Yttrium Oxyorthosilicate) which were made for PET scanners but didn't end up meeting the cut. Some are full prisms measuring 20x4x4mm, some are partial (either broken pixels or pixels that caught the edge of the crystal and show some of the rounded crystal face). We have also had some faceted as long pixel gems which are very bright and beautiful!
LYSO is a very unusual crystal grown for use in science and industry. It has a clear base and very strong blue fluorescence. It glows incredibly bright under UV light as well as higher energy radiation, and because of this it can be used to detect invisible gamma rays, xrays and even alpha rays. This type of LYSO has been optimized for ultra strong fluorescence with no afterglow (it does not glow in the dark, only with UV exposure). Its fluorescence is so strong it has a striking blue glow in sunlight--this effectively gives it a color change effect, since it looks colorless under room lighting and light purple-blue outdoors. It has a very interesting and unique look which you can't find anywhere else.

LYSO is not very hard at around 5.8, just under tanzanite, and as such is not a good choice for a ring, though it would be great in a pendant or earrings.

I want to plot in the Gem window a graph that will visualise the evolution of a process in real time. So effectively I have just 1 number that changes and I want to plot this graph on-line. I thought that an easy way to do it is just to draw individual pixels, controlling their location on the screen with the number. Is this possible?
Do you have an example image of what you want to achieve? Not sure if I get the picture, but from what I understand, you need to apply recursion.
If you want to generate lots of points or lines, you need to use [repeat] and [separator]

Thanks a lot for the patch! Its very nice and helps. I will try to figure out if I can adapt it to my needs - which will probably include creating a long table that will start from all zeros, and will be created and displayed during the process...

Aside from that, the combat is more nuanced than the usual survival affair, but overall, despite The Survivalists remaining to be the only survival game that I liked, and it is one that I have sunk in more hours than I should have, your mileage may vary on how much you would love the changes that it brought to the genre. But it sure did convert me into a believer.
And you better ride that momentum, because this is another one of those experiences that is relatively short in its overall play time. Despite that, Cyber Shadow remains to be one of the most memorable side-scrolling games that I have played in recent years, and definitely one of the hardest.
