Governments gear up for EV transition in Latin America
2021-02-02 ... Chile: 100% of public transport and 40% of private transport should be electrified by 2050.  -Colombia: 600,000 EVs seen on streets by 2030.  -Costa Rica: 25% of light vehicles should be zero-emission by 2035 and 60% by 2050 (commercial and government fleets seen with higher percentages). Meanwhile, 70% of buses and taxis are expected to be zero-emission by 2035 and 100% by 2050.  -Mexico: 500 trolleybuses for zero-emission EV routes are expected in Mexico City by 2024.  -Panama: 25-50% of public transport and 10-20% of private transport should be electrified by 2030. Lastly, EVs are seen representing 25-40% of total private vehicles sales in the country by 2030 ...
