All of a sudden my thermal receipts are displaying a black, square logo at the top instead of my business logo. This was not the case before. I went in to Account & Settings > Business Information > Receipts and made sure that the logos were there (they were, but I also replaced them). Other receipt changes I make to text etc update just fine, but the logo continues to print in black. Any ideas? Photo of the receipt:
Are you still having that issue ? Also what is the image size you're using for the Logo ? We ran into a logo issue sometime back where it was printing too large which only part of it showed and most of it was black as our logo has black in it. Our work around was to create a .png file 400 x 200 - we then reduced the image size of our logo so it would fit in the middle of the 400 x 200 .png file. We left enough border around the logo so it didn't touch any edges of the .png file. And just like magic - it printed perfectly on the receipts. Not sure if this work around would work for you but, may be worth looking into.
Yes, this is still happening for us as well, and now affects both of our locations using thermal printers for receipts (logo turns up black). Definite software bug that needs fixing. We've had to turn off logo printing.
It would certainly make a logo more versatile, but then obviously doesn't give the designer as much room to be creative. I also see a lot of logos these days that wouldn't work in just black and white... such as those with gradients and those making use of blend modes:
A logo should work as black and white because it might be used in non-conventional ways. In this case black and white denotes high contrast or 2 colors/textures. This means that the logo can be used in a setting where color is not available. Some examples of such things include:
So in fact by expanding your creativity potential, you are in fact decreasing creative potential for the client. And at the end of the day your logo would have most likely worked in back and white if you had used a bit more brainpower on the subject.
Note: Most of the logos in your example do not necessitate color. They most work in 2 color settings. At least Waymo, tvnz and Currency Cloud can easily be made 2 color non-gradient. And even the first one probably has a black and white version.
Its your job to sell logos that can be used in monochrome if needed. Its your job to ask the client what they use it for and anticipate the need to special applications. If you deliver without this in mind, it will be your job again to make it work in the future if they request a b&w version.
The answer is yes. At the end of the day, every logo produced by a professional should work in black and white, greyscale, and pure color. If the business doesn't see themselves putting their logo on anything other then the sign out front, then they really don't need a logo. Maybe that ma and pa pizza parlor wants to get shirts made, if the logo doesn't work in black and white, you may have a interesting time making that shirt happen.
It'd important that someone with visual impairments such as colorblindness be able to see your product or organization's logo. But I produce publications that need to be made accessible per Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Acrobat Pro's accessibility test requires me to manually check the contrast. I used to run a preflight in Acrobat and save a copy as grayscale. Now, I open my PDF in Photoshop CS6 or later. I click the View tab; click Proof Setup slide open the dropdown menu and select: Grayscale, then . You can do the same thing in Illustrator.
Yes, it has to work in black and white. Well, it has no requirements. You and your client want to be prepared for the callous reproduction of the logo. For an impromptu get together, for any number of reasons, the logo, and perhaps letterhead, could be slapped on a copy machine, preferences set to b&w and reproduced and distributed.
B&W logos open a wide range of new opportunities in terms of design, it makes them more versatile and can be applied in may kind of complex backgrounds and still stand out. How are you going to apply a 2 colour logo where one color is dark and other color is bright on a dark or bright background? one of the colors will always get lost.
I have tried a few things to see what's going on with my logo. I tested it on other applications and even dropping it onto a different piece of webpage as an image and it worked fine with white text and transparent background. The logo file is .PNG created with Canva. Is it possible my theme may have restrictions for logo colour? I have tried changing the background colour/colour scheme beneath the black and white photo as well. Any advice is appreciated ?
Now it wont boot into IOS.. When i press the on/off button, it shows apple logo for 1 sec, and then screen goes black. But i can see that there are light in the screen (on the side when its not assempled),
The only thing i now believe it could be, is the battery. The first time i changed the part, i took the battery out. And when i was trying to boot the Iphone, i said that there was no power on, but the phone was fulle charged before i started.
3. When the screen turns off, release the sleep/wake button but keep holding the home button, the screen will most likely remain turned off. Check iTunes on the computer if it is detecting a phone in recovery mode. 4. Restore software using iTunes.
If this doesn't help or work most likely you have a damaged logic board. This could be due to various reasons, most commonly not using proper ESD protection during repairs. It says in the guide i linked that you might have felt a shock, but this is not true, ESD damage can be caused by shocks to small you can't feel it.
Boot apple logo, then one sec to black screen lit up means it's going into DFU mode due to corrupted firmware a.k.a unreadable system partition, if this is the result you either need to restore or NAND needs reprogrammed / reballed.
UPDATE: I restored and updated the software. The phone now shows a regular screen. If you tried this and you cannot get the phone to restore, you may have a software issue - maybe the software encountered an interruption while updating, or when it failed. If you cant use iTunes, maybe try to update/restore using open source softwares.
Did updat 11.4 5se starts acting funky turned on but said searching then finally stopped turning on now flashes logo and black lit screen. Apple support is no help. I officially am about to jail break it!
My daughter loves her phone to death and she didn't upload anything to her cloud. She's crying because she thinks she has to get everything erased! Here is her problem and what happened before. This happened a night ago. My daughter was spinning her phone on a coffee table with her finger. It fell and hit the bottom part of the coffee table. Might I add its fallen before and its never done anything like this. When unplugged it won't turn on by pressing the home or on\off button. On a charger it will show the apple logo then turn black and sometimes it will even show red after the apple logo! I really don't want to get her a new phone, and ive tried holding the power button and the home button for 2 minutes! and nothing! But once it did show the battery and the red inside of it! But its been on the charger since 9:42 PM last night! Any help would be very helpful! Please help.
