Should I be worried about this error? Error with prediction: Augustus lend_intergenic:.....

I'm getting the following error and not sure how to interpret it:

`Error with prediction: Augustus lend_intergenic: 254751, rend_intergenic: 253872  at /usr/local/EVidenceModeler/evidence_modeler.pl line 3220.`

This error is repeated several hundred times - what does it mean?

Hi Jon,

This happens if there are multiple augustus predictions that overlap in their coordinate spans.  Usually, it's not a problem and you can ignore it.

Hi Brian,

I  had the same error as Jon but with the input from GeMoMa. However, the analysis finished with that error :

Error with prediction: GeMoMa lend_intergenic: 3214864, rend_intergenic: 3160514  at /cluster/software/evidencemodeler/EVidenceModeler-1.1.1/evidence_modeler.pl line 3218.
    -no exons in range 1 - 1356663438

hi,

normally I wouldn't worry about the gene overlap issue as long as the genes do actually overlap (no intergenic region between them).

This gives me pause, though... :    -no exons in range 1 - 1356663438
