I'm afraid not...
It works fine when I'm using the command line interface,
It only happens in background processes started by apache
But I did try that too, at first....
Running Ubuntu...
Trying this anyway, but doesn't seem to be it.

sestatus tells me selinux is disabled
All: thanks for the suggestions.
The issue had nothing to do with YottaDB or Linux,
the computer I used had a faulty memory.
I'm using a different computer now, and all works as expected.
