It occurred to me that Trump wants to trash Canada's economy with his 25% tariff, so he'll have an argument for Canada becoming our 51st state, in which case the tariff will cease to exist for Canadians. Also, as I've posted previously, if his tariffs produce enough cash for running the reduced in size US government, he can argue for the elimination of the income tax, to be replaced with a value-added tax, while eliminating the IRS. His billionaire and corporate buddies will be very happy to pay the VAT tax, with zero personal and corporate tax rates. AG

In California there's a plan to be bought by Denmark and live in a social democracy.  The tricky part is that California's GDP is eight times Denmark's so it's not clear who should buy whom.
