For any political leader, releasing knowledge of spacemen would be a get out of jail free card when released to the public. Think, any politician. "I'll save you." "We have the greatest crisis in human history and you now need me to deal with these spacemen." Earth needs one voice to deal with these guys and I'm that voice!" "I can negotiate with these spacemen and obtain life-saving technology!" 

Spacemen seem too good to be true.

The more the Pentagon, or whomever, stonewalls on a classified hearing, the more plausible becomes the claim that the whistleblower has been correct in his allegations. AG

You assume too much. Maybe they're not so friendly. Maybe they evolved within OUR solar system. In any event, the fact that no security briefing has been scheduled suggests the government has something to hide. AG
