Does your engine have a flywheel governor?  If so, it may be sticking as the engine warms up.  Remember, if you have a flywheel gov. you must move the weight towards the outside of the flywheel to slow the engine down.  I don't know what the HP of your engine is, but it would be called a (X) NC ie: 3 NC.

I have a Fuller and Johnson NC open flywheel with the spark plug in a
pipe that sticks out from the head about 3". New EK mag, It starts
right up in a turn or so and runs great for about five or ten min.
once it gets good and warmed up it starts to race out of control.
Whats up? Has anybody experienced this before? And how do you time one
of these. And what is the proper name of this engine. Thanks Glenn

Thanks I will try that. It seems to miss fire on a couple hits then by
the time it fires it really hammers, with all the extra fuel and over
speeds then it does it again, now its starting to jump around so I
need to shut it down. When its cold it runs perfect. It is a 1 1/2hp
