I am not able to watch 4k youtube videos while using Ever Proxy. I did a speed test and it shows that it can handle the full speed in the app 102 Mbps but when watching youtube it only goes up to about 2 Mbps. The only thing I see online is that proxies can slow down internet because of bouncing around or whatever. Thats not the case when using a local proxy like every proxy. I can download stuff at full speed no problem too. It just seems to be youtube specifically and only when using Every Proxy.

Sounds like cellular video streaming throttling. Use a VPN if you are not already.

Wow. I was skeptical this was the reason and almost argued because it doesnt make sense that it would affect things going through a proxy app. How would they know when Im watching from my computer? However, I did what you said and it worked! no problem watching 4k videos and it doesn't use any tethering data. Just to clarify I was watching youtube on my computer using tethering and could watch 4k no problem, other than eating up all my data. Using a proxy it didnt eat up my data but the best i could watch was 480p and sometimes 720p. Turning off the video streaming throttling, which was not easy to find, worked and then also did speed up my download speed as I realized I was reading the speeds wrong, mixing up Mbps (Mega BITS per second) and MBps (Mega BYTES per second). Thank you so much for the help! and a reminder to everyone to always try what the troubleshooter tells you to do, even if it doesn't make sense because they know what they are talking about more than you do!

That's awesome You got it working :) EveryProxy doesn't mask traffic, it just makes the traffic appear that it's coming off your phone instead of your PC. So without a VPN you have traffic flowing from PC to EveryProxy to the cellular provider, and the cellular provider can see that you are connecting to YouTube. A VPN tunnels everything coming off your phone. That tunnel still goes through your cellular provider, but the cellular provider cannot see what is inside the tunnel (YouTube traffic in this case).
