Configure router to use proxy?

When I configure my work laptop with the proxy IP/port it works, but the vpn will not stay connected. Can I configure a wireless router to use Every Proxy and point my work pc to the router. I have a netis that supports wireless wan, but I can't figure out how to configure the proxy. Thanks.
