Hey,

I am an avid user of every proxy. Device: pixel 10 pro, android version 17, build CP2A.260605.012

Every proxy still runs and starts as intended, however, when i setup the proxy in my laptop, it simply does not start the server. Before the android 17 update, it used to work without any issues.

I am able to confirm this. I have two devices, one running on android 16 and primary on 17. When i proxy from 16, it works as intended.

Please help.

Thanks

Hi Rai,

Let me look into this and come back to you. Android now requires an additional permission to allow the proxy to work.

Thanks

I've just tested the app. on an Android 17 emulator and it seems to work as expected...

Maybe if you give me a few more details I can help you further?

Thanks

Hi Rai,

There is a new permission in Android 17 named Nearby Devices. Could you try to grant that permission to the Every Proxy app. and see if that works?

Thanks

I also have the same issue.  Longtime user with no previous problems...  I updated android 17 this week, and now every proxy is no longer working.  The IP addresses appear as normal, and everything appears fine, but no traffic seems to go through.  Let me know if theres any debug information i can give you

Hi All,

Thanks for your patience.

I've only just been able to debug this on my device since it updated to Android 17.

I've got a fix underway, it's going through the release cycle.

Version 18.0.2 should fix this issue. You may need to uninstall the app. and then reinstall it with version 18.0.2 when available.

I'll let you know as soon as it's released to production.

Thanks

Thank you so much for your fast response. It's fixed on 18.0.2, just installed it from Google play.

Wonderful!  Can u give detail on what was causing the problem, for curiousity?

PS.  Many thanks for making this app...  I work on linux, but my work VPN only supports android and widows... So using every proxy via tethering my linux machine to my android phone is the only way to use my work email without touching god-awful windows 🙏.  It's been a life saver.

Yup, same here.  Updating to 18.0.2 fixed the issue for me.  Thanks for solving this so quick!

The fix was to request a slightly different network permission on Android 17.

Android 16 wants one network permission whereas Android 17 wants a different network permission ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
