is anyone using the GTK LAF? i tried running Terminator and Evergreen built out of the box today, but they were both annoyingly janky. Evergreen especially. i hacked the usual line in GuiUtilities and had a much more comfortable afternoon with the Metal LAF.

it might look a bit 1990s, but at least it's jank-free.

is it just me with my stupid NVIDIA Quadro cards that still has trouble with the GTK LAF? or am i the only one using OpenJDK?

I'm using GTK+ LAF. I don't know what "janky" means. Evergreen's fine. I have graphics driver problems with Terminator since Debian Wheezy. I'm still using Sun's last Java 6. (I don't think I've tried Wheezy's OpenJDK 6. Squeeze's didn't last a week before crashing me back to Sun's.)

"stuttery". not smooth.

i also found that if i clicked on a Find in Files match i got dark gray text on a bright blue background that wasn't really readable. but maybe pure Debian has a different theme that avoids that.

oh well. i'll keep my patch for another LTS release cycle then :-)
