I'd like to wish a Mazal Tov to our very own Adina Shafner for getting engaged!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Best,
Jon

Hello fellows!

Sorry I didn't think to do this myself; it's all felt a bit of a whirlwind.  But for those that might remember, this is the guy I had just started dating and was mad about all through Havurah (he had his own symbolic xkcdish sticker on my namecard).

Lynn was just returning to Miami after we spent the summer together.  We decided to try long distance the day before I left for Havurah and had our first Skype date that week (alas during the cracker jousting).  At first he visited every 6 weeks, but then it was 4, and eventually 2-3.  After another local summer and more Skyping we got engaged last weekend on one of his visits. I'm telecommuting from Miami now for the next two weeks and we're getting married..summerish? (have I mentioned the blur?  I don't really have any details planned yet),

We're still up in the air about which city we'll be living in and very much hope it will be local to New York.  If you'd like to help with that, please keep an eye/ear attuned for any middle or high school teaching jobs (humanities - social studies, especially) in the tristate area.  He's licensed in NYC and hopefully in NJ soon as well.  Otherwise, I'm Miami bound, in which case, please hook me up with all the cool Floridians, because I don't know many people here.

I would love to come to Chesapeake, but probably won't know until much closer to the date (might very well be moving around then).  Hopefully, I can bring Lynn and introduce him to everyone. :)  Otherwise, in the blue of possible plans is a vague notion of an open-house hangout type of thing when Lynn is in New York for the holiday break.

Hope you're all well and thank you for the warm fuzzy wishes!

Love,
Adina
