Hi I am new to this group and am not expecting much of a response guven that there are probably about 10 people interested in this product, but it is still vital to us so I thought I would take a chance in the hope that someone still reads this User Group data...

I was forced to move the entire software and databse over to the new server and everything is not running OK except when it comes to printing documents (So's & PO's) ...

I get the Following error message and don;t know how to get past it!

Error Number   : 588

Error Message  : Error:524 Error in File :
Print job busy.
GetSectionCodes <PEGetNSections>

Error Source   : PrintDocumentDialog

Error Method   : btnPreviewClick

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

CHris

P.s. For what it's worth, I have not installed an actual printer and am trying to print to the Microsoft Office Image Writer and also to a PDF file via the Export function on the printer dialogue screen.

I have seen Everest generate similar error messages when there is no printer installed. Try installing a printer and try again. Make sure the new printer is set as default.

Any update if the installing printer corrected?

Hi Chris

On the system where you are getting this error message do the following and it will work :-)

Right Mouse Click on My Computer > Properties > Advanced - Performance -- Settings > Data Execution Prevention - Here select 2nd option Turn on DEP for all programs. Restart the computer and should resolve the issue.

Also ensure the same settings are updated on the Database Server that also have Report Server.

Was there any resolution to this error? It was a long time ago but do you remember how it was repaired?

Hi Chris,

You said this error is only on one machine. does it client machine or server. can you tell me the Everest Version you are using and operating system of  the  machine where you got this error.

Also you said the error is only on one report do you have customized that report or this report is Everest Default Report.

Regards

Rony

Ahhh good old error 588.
I have been dealing with Everest for almost a year now and error 588 is by far the most common issue I have seen. Here are my notes to resolve the issue, it seems that this error can be caused by many different issues but with these notes I am now able to solve it on my own, usually.

1.If Running Office 2016 and this error occurs after having sent one email from Everest (you receive error 588 when either printing or sending emails after having sent a single Everst generated email) Downgrade Office:

In Command Prompt as Administrator run these commands:

cd %programfiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun

officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.7070.2036

Or try this version if the 1st doesn’t work:

officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.6965.2136

Don’t forget to disable Office auto updates after!

2. Error 588  when running Reports:

System Properties (RightClick on Computer and properties)

Advanced Tab – Performance – Data Execution Prevention

Either select the 1st option (Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs)

Or if it already selected, select the 2nd option (Turn on DEP for all programs except) Then add Everest.exe to the list (C:\Program Files (x86)\Icode\Everest\Client)

Windows update will mess with this so one might have to switch them back and forth….

3. KB3102429 can cause this error, remove it.

4. Can also be caused by a database error, was caused by too many characters in our notes. Try to keep it under 200 characters.

Hopefully these help someone down the road.
Cheers!
Sam
