Have to login again after adding items to cart.

Hi,

Running Everest 5.026, and have a problem.

When someone logs into our site, and adds items to their cart, and then goes to secure checkout on the address page they get logged out, and brought back to the sign in page, with no items in their cart.  This is a never ending loop.

Does anyone have any ideas on why this is happening and what the possible fix would be?

Sounds like they are getting a new cart ID assigned when they switch to https  You need to make sure the same cart id exists for both http and https of the URL

Better yet, make the entire site https, this is a common trend now as well.  Put a redirect in for all http traffic to go to https

Better solution is to switch completely to https.

 

But there is another option in IIS.

https://www.networkinghowtos.com/howto/iis-7-creating-new-session-when-switching-to-https/

 

Please make sure “New ID on Secure Connection” is set to “False”.
