UPS recently killed off their autoload tool that we used to download bills automatically.

long shot here --  has anyone written anything that uses their API to grab tracking info off bills and place it in everest?

We have done some things where we pull Quantum view and Fedex into an integrated BI suite (as well as other optional information such as inventory, sales, and purchase forecasting) then integrated it to a group of new webservices. Those webservices can update shipping costs, generate PQ/PO's, create tasks, close documents, create/manage WO's and a variety of other business automation activities.

I'd try to tackle this at the point the shipment is created. For instance, with Worldship you could create a write back that could store the tracking information in Everest when the label is created.

If that isn't possible, I have written a program that will read UPS bills exported as a CSV and dump it in a table for analysis. It wouldn't be hard to adapt that to insert the values in invoices and shipment_tracking_details. I haven't tried to pull from their API. If you decide to go that direction and you need help, feel free to reach out.

For internal shipments it is easy enough to export the data from worldship as you suggest but these are third party shipments.

We have a custom tool that reads the CSV bills and imports them into where we need them. But the tool that UPS provided to auto download those tools no longer works. 

Their API allows you to access the billing records - but not download the csv files. Our time on everest is limited - so if someone had a tool we could start with it would probably be worth the time - but to do something from scratch is questionable at this point.
