Good Afternoon Folks,
A quick reminder, that tonight is the ANNUAL LIGHTING OF THE CHRISTMAS
TREE in MARTIN PLACE. This year it looks bigger and better than ever
(they've been putting up stages etc... for 2 days now).
This week sees the launch of 2 major international film festivals, THE
HOLA! MEXICAN FILM FESTIVAL, and the most eagerly awaited POSSIBLE
WORLDS CANADIAN FILM FESTIVAL, with screenings at some excellent
venues such as The Australian Museum through to Bobbi's Pole Studio,
and some titles to definitely catch, if you get a chance. Along with
that, we have the launch of a new club called LOVE & HATRED over the
the old Grosvenor Club (aka The Taxi Club). We also say goodbye to THE
ROCKS MARKETS BY MOONLIGHT for another year with some excellent live
entertainment all through Friday evening, to wrap it up.
Along with that, there's the launch of EARTH FESTIVAL at CENTENNIAL
PARK this Saturday at midday. Now I originally thought that this was a
City Of Sydney initiative, but it actually seems to be a commercial
venture (though somewhat cheap) celebrating eco-lifestyles through art
projects and music. It vaguely reminds me of the original Canberra
Arts Festival, though vamped up for the 21st Century. It may be worth
having a looksee.
Oh yes, for those who celebrate it, it's (for those U.S readers)
THANKSGIVING on the 27th... Heck! That's today!
