Friday Afternoon Events Update, January 29th, 2010

There's bee a bit this week and now ramping up to the final weekend of
the Sydney Festival and it has been jam-packed with events and things
to do - but don't worry, that's not all. After all next week is the
one week you have off before THE MARDI GRAS FESTIVAL takes flight for
another year :) Anyway, after a quick drink at the re-opened CENTURY
TAVERN, remember that AESTHETIC PERFECTION is on tonight at THE
METRO.
Also, I mentioned earlier that The Rocky Horror Picture Show was
returning. Well it's true. March 5th sees the return of THE ROCKY
HORROR PICTURE SHOW to THE CHAUVEL cinema in paddington. Now this is
just like the show you remember from the old Hoyts/GU days at George
Street, but it's a swankier digs. Yes we have the film, yes we have
the Pre-show and the Live 'Shadow-cast'. It'll be a ball of fun - and
the dress-code for this Uber-Produced Official Mardi Gras Event (yes,
you read that correctly... Official Mardi Gras Event) is Fetish :D
It'll be Rocky Horror with the audience giving it a GLBT-Fetish-
twist.

Returning to the deathrock scene this weekensd is THE COBWEB CLUB on
this Saturday night going head-to-head... welll something like that
with the MADD CLUB REUNION. If you remember being at THE SITE in the
early 90's and haveing MAYNARD F# CRABBS running along the bar setting
it on fire, then you'll know vaguely what to expect, though this is at
Kinselas and they might put some restrictions on what he can do to/
throw at you.
Also, for those Trekkies in the audience, we have the one and only
PATRICK STEWART (Captain Jean-Luc Picard, from Star Trek: The Next
Generation) appearing live at the SEBEL HOTEL PARRAMATTA answering
questions, and so forth. Be there early though, as it may be a long
day ;)
If that isn't enough - well there is Sunday evening to recover ;) -
well you can go and watch GAMERA tromp all over Tokyo at SUNDAY
MYSTERY THEATRE on Sunday night anyway ;).
