to Events In Sydney
Good Morning, Folks!

...and yes it's good to be back. Yes we have raised out ugly heads
once again to let people know what things are on and where they are :)
and it's not like we've been away too much, I mean the Calendar has
been kept pretty well up-to-date while the posts have been gone, so if
you have been checking on that, you have kept pretty much on top of
things ;) - It's been a good vacation and time is now on our side so
we have listings and more to come. You know I thought that January/
February was the events season, but it seems to be all year 'round
now. Which is nioce because there's stuff to do, but not-so-nice
because you need more money with which to do all these great things.

OK - for the past 3 months THEATRE OF BLOOD had been bloodletting at
THE NEWTOWN THEATRE, but this Friday night, Season One finishes with a
blood-spattered finale. So, before they go off on their merry way to
get ready for the next installment, pop on 'round to see them on their
final performance night at 11opm. There are a few tickets left, and
maybe one or two left in the front row (for those who don't mind the
odd splash of red-stuff).

Not to mention that SIGNAL-TO-NOISE finishes up this weekend at THE
SEYMOUR CENTRE. It's free, and if you ever wonderered what the Indie
music scene was like in the early 80's this is a MUST SEE (along with
the 80's Exhibit at THE POWERHOUSE MUSEUM). However, this one (A
Sydney Festival Exhibition) finishes this weekend, so jump along soon,
it's on every afternoon from 5pm until Sunday.

Of course there is the annual BIG DAY OUT (which is never on Australia
Day anymore, becuase the NSW Government didn't want to detract from
their Australia Day Celebrations) and also it sells out within 7
minutes now, so you are simply lucky IF you get to buy a ticket.
Still, this year there are TWO Sydney shows this year and I guess
there are some good artists there and it is a BIG day out ;) However,
if you can't get there, you can just gio along to a classical music
evening at The Domain and enjoy SYMPHONY AT THE DOMAIN, it ends with
THE 1812 Overture which adds cannons, St Mary's Church Bells, and many
MANY fireworks. Afterwards, you can head on up to THE OXFORD HOTEL to
see FANCY PIECE in a Free show (yes I said Free) and then head on
downstairs to the 2010 return of SHALLOW NATION.

If that isn't enough - well there is Sunday to recover ;)

Oh yes... while I remember... THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW is
returning... soon!

There are of course the usual weekend events on and the details for
those are below.

OK, I think that's my lot. A short-ish intro this week. So, let's just
get on with the process of putting this list out :)

To visually follow Events In Sydney I direct you to our Google
Calendar ( http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=eventsinsydney%40gmail.com&ctz=Australia/Sydney
) and the Calendar function in Yahoogroups, so those of you who get
this mailer, can log in ( http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Events_In_Sydney/cal
) and have a look at that as all events are listed there as well
(they're all the same events - just in differing formats). Also, this
list is now mirroring on Google Groups ( http://groups-beta.google.com/group/eventsinsydney
), so if you have a Google Account - keep an eye out for us there.

Just a reminder that Events In Sydney has a Facebook Group (http://
www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=5591270255) and a presence on MySpace
( http://www.myspace.com/eventsinsydney ) so you can find us there as
well. Events get added as they're notified, and we post the weekly and
weekend events lists there as well.

That seems to be everything I have to rabbit on about, for the moment,
so let's get on with the listing, shall we?....Daily updates (when
there's something, which I find interesting, on) can normally be found
at the Events In Sydney LiveJournal site ( http://www.livejournal.com/users/eventsinsydney
). Easy to read and easily linked.

For those bands you might be interested in, that I haven't mentioned,
have a look at Faster Louder ( http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/index.php?city=1
) for that Independent What's On Listing (which we also supply details
to).
