Bangalore Roof Top Film Festival

Hi All,
We are planning to have our next roof top film festival BRTFF this
month end or early next month. I know many of you would be interested.

As of now we have hit a road block. We dont have a place to conduct
one. We need a place preferably residential which can be used through
out night. If any of you interested in volunteering let me know.

Hi Thejesh,

I stay at Concorde Silicon Valley, Eln city. There is a party hall accommodating 200 people available for free provided it is booked in advance. I guess, I can even obtain the roof top of the hall for a day. Let me know if u find it interesting enough, so that I can talk to the association people.

Hi Thejesh,

I am a student in IISc Bangalore and we have an on campus gymkhana hall (seating capacity > 300). It is frequently used for screening movies and can seat the substantial student population of IISc. However the roof-top may or may not be negotiable. If you are interested I can talk to the concerned authorities and find out all details.

BRTFF = Bangalore Roof Top Film Festival
was started by few friends in Bangalore as club where Independent
movie makers can show the movies created by themselves to an audience.
Its free to show your movie and free event to attend. Usually watching
the movie is followed by discussion regarding the content of the movie
and process/quality of making etc

some times we do watch few good commercial movies along with the indi
movies. Since its a free event we can afford to rent a place. Its
usually done on a roof top (which are free) and with screen and hired
projector.

For those who don't know about BRTFF -

RTFF (Roof Top Film Festival) is a recent concept started by a couple of likeminded movie buffs (parent site - rtff.pbwiki.com). BRTFF is the Bangalore chapter. RTFF is a meet where every camper contributes something to the meet. They can either take care of the equipment like speakers, players, projectors, CDs/DVDs, etc. or other stuff like food, drinks, beds, blankets or taking care of transportation. The basic idea is that everyone has to contribute something. Its a "open-for-all" meet. The event can either be a day or a night event, based on the convenience of the participants. After every movie the campers discuss / comment about the movie. As a gesture of support we had screened 2-3 amateur movies in the previous meets. But now we have a separate platform - filmcamp, for such purposes.

Last year we had two BRTFF meets in Bangalore (www.brtff.com). For now the two main issues we are facing is a place and a projector / large screen display. We already have the speakers and DVD players ready.
