Hello,

We have had a webhook set up on our developer account since 08/10/20, and it has worked as expected, up until 01/06/21, at which point we started seeing Eventbrite showing the requests resulting in a 500 Internal Server Error.

The error was not consistent, and only occurred (initially) for about half of the attempted requests. Sometimes triggering a resend a couple times would result in success. The frequency does seem to be increasing.

Looking at our Application Insights in Azure, it looks like the request never even made it to our server, and is actually just failing on Eventbrite side.

Triggering a resend also does not seem to yield any successful results at this time.

Our webhook is configured for these events:
  • Events: All
  • Action: attendee.updated
  • Action: barcode.checked_in
  • Action: barcode.un_checked_in
  • Action: event.created
  • Action: event.published
  • Action: event.unpublished
  • Action: event.updated
  • Action: order.placed
  • Action: order.refunded
  • Action: order.updated
  • Action: organizer.updated
  • Action: ticket_class.created
  • Action: ticket_class.deleted
  • Action: ticket_class.updated
  • Action: venue.updated
Would love some assistance in getting this resolved.

Thanks,
Benjamin

Hey Benjamin,

Thanks for reaching out about this. As you are likely aware, a 500 error code is a server error on our end. It looks like you have a single hook registered to all possible actions which could slow down webhook processing and transmission depending on the size of your Organization and Events.

I'll follow up privately for additional information which we need to investigate further.

Take care!
