Hi there,

I'm looking to track conversions for a number of flows from various sources through our website then over to Eventbrite and Google Analytics.
We use the Eventbrite API to pull back all the events and list them out along with relevant buttons to click off to purchase tickets back in Eventbrite.

We want to be able to track through Google Analytics pathways to purchase conversions for the following scenarios:

Google Campaign --> Our Website --> EventBrite --> Sales

LinkedIn Campaign --> Our Website --> EventBrite --> Sales

Twitter Campaign --> Our Website --> EventBrite --> Sales

EDM Campaign --> Our Website --> EventBrite --> Sales

Is there a way to pass something in a query string for the relevant URLs through to Eventbrite that will be picked up by the tracking pixel google analytics setup within Eventbrite,

and a purchase subsequently triggering the conversion in Google Analytics?

Thanks.

Hi Ilya!

So, this isn't done through Eventbrite's API -- but we have this feature as a part of the product which helps with implementing this tracking via Google Analytics: https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articles/en_US/How_To/how-to-set-up-a-tracking-pixel-with-google-universal-analytics?lg=en_US

It has to be done through the web UI, but it can be set up on an account-wide level.

Cheers!

Hi Mitch,

Thanks for the reply.
Yup, I'm aware of the tracking pixel within Eventbrite - not sure that's going to capture the flow below though:

Google Campaign --> Our Website --> EventBrite --> Sales

LinkedIn Campaign --> Our Website --> EventBrite --> Sales

Twitter Campaign --> Our Website --> EventBrite --> Sales

EDM Campaign --> Our Website --> EventBrite --> Sales

We need to differentiate each of these to effectively track conversions and effectiveness of each campaign.

The key thing is that the entry point to eventbrite will always be from our website which will have visitors directed to it via the four campaigns above.

So, Eventbrite will need to know which campaign source the conversion came from to be any use here.

Plus, we have dozens of events - can we just use the one google tracking code to track across all different events?

Can you clarify how we can achieve above.

Thanks again,

ilya.

Hi Ilya,

From my understanding -- our implementation of Google's 'Universal Analytics' tracking pixel should allow you to differentiate a user dependent on source and path, all the way through to conversion. However, this is reliant on the same Google Universal Analytics tracking pixel being used on your Website.

We've worked to implement the tracking pixel for Google Analytics, but I'm definitely not a GA expert, so I'm very limited in the advice I can give on the topic.

From here, I would recommend contacting Google Analytics support to answer questions on getting the tracking to work across multiple domains (when using the same Universal Analytics pixel).

Wish I had more domain expertise on the GA product to share -- sorry about that. Cheers!

Hey Mitch,

Thanks - really appreciate your response. I'll dig a bit deeper and see what I can surface out.

Thanks once again :)

Hi Ilya,

Just wondered if you found a solution to this? I'm trying to do something very similar and I'm not sure if I should go down the pixel route or try to pass over the source/medium into the eventbrite property.

I've also got multiple events setup and at the moment each one has its own property, I'm not sure if I can combine these into one and just filter on the separate events pages or if this will cause problems?

Any experience you can share would be really helpful.

Thanks,
Shelley

Hi Mitch,
one simple question.

Does it work, the way it's described in the tutorial?

HI Katrina,

Yes, that tutorial is up-to-date.  As Mitch mentioned, this feature helps implement google analytics. If you do run into any issues working through the tutorial, please follow the documented steps to get more support.

Best,
Malina

Hi there,

I have a similar issue. But I can't see what tutorials you're looking at?

I actually have set up cross domain tracking which has allowed me to see a bit more of a clearer flow but I don't know how that will work with LinkedIn. And wondering if this was solved completely.

Please share the tutorials!
