Our relay application has long needed some TLC. I found the excuse to give it some touchup today, drastically simplifying the setup process for anyone with a semi-recent Linux.  A brief overview of the changes:
  • We're going to call this thing 1.0! Woohoo. emdr-relay-go never got a stable release, though it has been chugging along steadily for years now.
  • I have built a Docker image that is now the officially endorsed way to set up and run an EMDR relay.
  • We've upgraded (and now require) ZeroMQ 4.x. If you use the Docker image, you don't need to worry about this.
If you are currently running a relay, you don't have to update, but it is recommended. The upgrades to Go and ZeroMQ may yield some reliability improvements, and we'll all be running much more similar environments.
