I'm creating a spreadsheet for trading and I'm a bit confused about how I should be interpreting the data. When I set a formula ending in "//sell/volume" or "//buy/volume"and the cell tells me 10 but in station it tells me 7, what is it that I am actually seeing. I suppose what I am asking is, what is the code "//sell/volume" supposed to relay to me? Is there a certain default time history of data that it uses? Like the last 24 hours, last 5 days, or 3 months... etc?

Any detailed explanation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What, precisely, are you looking at "in station" for your comparison?

Buy and sell volumes are the total volume of that item currently in open buy or sell orders, respectively. It's not related to the total amount traded over time - that information is not available, since there's no way via the EVE API to tell the difference between an order being fulfilled and an order expiring or being cancelled.

EVE Central also doesn't update instantly, so in faster-moving markets things in station may well have changed since EVE Central last pulled data.

Hope that's useful.

James
