Text to Number from ImportXML()

Hi,
i have the problem that i couldn´t multiply the Value from the api ( =importXML("http://api.eve-central.com/api/marketstat?typeid=34&usesystem=30000142";"//buy/max") ) because googel docs said
that is a text and can not multiply.
I had tryed to convert it with =value() but it doesn´t work.
Are there option to convert the text to numbers like int or other possible Numberforms
