Please see my answers to Betsy's questions below.  I also just finished testing for the Entrada internship, has anyone done this? 

1.    Did you finish the program? 
       Yes
2.    Have you been working?
       No
3.    Have you been working in the medical transcription field?
       No
4.    If you are doing transcription or editing, what sort of work are you
doing?  None
5.    If you are doing transcription or editing, how much are you working?
       N/A
6.    If you are doing transcription or editing, what is your pay rate?
       N/A
7.    If you are doing transcription or editing, are you happy with what
you're doing?
       N/A
8.    What are your thoughts on the medical transcription world now that
you have completed the program?

       It seems that having an excellent GPA will help you get a good job.  My GPA was less than 3.5 and I have been turned down for new grad programs for this reason. 
       I  just started looking for employment and I am surprised to see that there are a lot of jobs out there with larger companies. 
       I wish that I would never have taken a break between school and looking for a job.  It is really challenging getting back up to speed. 
      

9.    What do you think about the training you've gotten from our program?
     
       I think that the training was really very good and well respected in the transcription community. 
       The employment tests that I have taken so far are the Career Step tests.  I think having experience with Career Step has been helpful. 
       I have not yet passed the transcription portion of any of the tests that I have taken, but I feel this is due to my lack of practice. 

10.    Do you have anything else you'd like to share now that some time has
gone by since you left the program?

Thank you for all of your help Betsy.  I really appreciate everything that you have shared with me. 
I think that having a mentor through AHDI has also been valuable to me.

I did not reply to Betsy's email yet, but I just wanted to say in
response to your answer on #8 that I don't think the GPA thing matters
- I graduated with honors, ending with an overall 3.67 GPA and it
hasn't made any difference. I'm lucky to be working with Entrada, but
I'd sure like a transcription job, and one where I can earn at least
minimum wage.
