Our Medical Coding Bridge Program is designed to take a medical transcriptionist, or individual with previous medical terminology and anatomy & physiology, to a medical coder in approximately six months. - Effective reading and listening skills
- Ability to work alone with no supervision
- Efficient computer skills, including basic computer programs
- An understanding of medical language and terminology
- Skills needed to understand medical reports
The US Department of Labor May 2008 Report states the median annual salary for medical coders ranges up to $42,170, with the top 10 percent earning well over $50,000 a year.
