Med-Line has been training professionals in healthcare documentation for over 20 years. I am excited to share our latest program with you, Medical Coding. Medical coding is a growth opportunity for medical transcriptionists seeking to broaden their career opportunities by learning a new skill set that naturally complements their transcription training and experience. Our Medical Coding Bridge Program is designed to take a medical transcriptionist, or individual with previous medical terminology and anatomy & physiology, to a medical coder in approximately six months. That is a small investment for an education that will open new doors.
Unlike other programs that break their programs into hospital and physician based, we provide an all-inclusive training that allows you to sit for the CCS and CCS-P coding credential upon completion.
As a medical transcriptionist, here are some of the skills you currently possess that will make transitioning to a medical coder almost effortless:
The US Department of Labor May 2008 Report states the median annual salary for medical coders ranges up to $42,170, with the top 10 percent earning well over $50,000 a year.
