Don't give up ...

I just wanted to send a quick note out to all of my classmates to say
don't give up on your job search. As of this week I have officially
been offered a position with a transcription company as a medical
transcriptionist. Because I have been searching for a med trans job
since even before graduating, and the outlook was getting pretty grim
- I was getting close to throwing in the towel. I just want to say to
everyone - if it is really something you want to do, don't give up. I
am excited to know that I will be making a regular (livable) paycheck
and can't wait to get started! I have completed all of the pre-
employment requirements and am now just waiting for my new hire packet
and training schedule.

Everything is great! Still with Entrada- I am with the Implementation Team now, meaning we voice print doctors and bring on the new accounts making sure templates are correct, voice recognition is optimal, and IT problems are all taken care of before the rest of the editors start taking on their work... I love it...

 

Every body is doing good. The boys keep growing and Hubby is still writing. Mom has gotten her a "boyfriend"- I quoted that since he is my age LOL>

 

Have you started you new classes yet? If so how do you like it?

Awesome!  Glad to hear everything is going so well.

 

Never a dull moment here...boys 15 and 17, youngest starts driver's ed in January.  This will b our fifth (and final) driver!  Woo, hoo!  Then, we've got 2 girls in college.  One is bringing "the one" (she says) home to meet the family in December.

 

I started the new program about 2 weeks ago, then promptly horked up my computer.  So, the hubs had to get it back up and running for me, and I'm just now getting back into the groove this week.

 

Needless to say,the first section is grammar <sigh>, but it is interesting in that it covers grammar as it applies to legal documents.  Since it is verbatim, it is all punctuation.  So, I'm a little glazed over on this part, but this section will be over shortly.  Next is medical terminology! <chuckle>

 

Otherwise, staying busy with church.

 

Glad to hear things are going so well for you.  I think about you often.

I'm still here too.  Hangin in there...the job I wrote about before the holidays "my don't give up post" didn't end up working out AT ALL, but I am still with Entrada.  How is everyone else doing?

Myken,  Sorry that the one job didn’t work out but it’s great that you’re still with Entrada. How do you like it?  Lisa, what are you doing now?

 

I’m doing well. Still working for MedicAlert but training now to be a medical information specialist. So far, that’s pretty easy after the training we had on medical terminology, anatomy, spelling, etc. My trainer is shocked at how comfortable I am with the information and I keep telling her it’s because of the MT training but I don’t think she really understands exactly what an MT knows and does. I also had a baby girl in January which does make me kind of wish I were working as an MT at home, but I do like my job. Hope everyone’s doing well!
